The winery is located in the eyebrow of the Caldera. The Association Cooperative of Theraic Products along with the construction of the modern winery created a Wine Promotion Center, where visitors from all over the world enjoy a tour of the winery and wine tasting.

Santorini Impresssions 2:A visit to Episkope and the Byzantine Church – Santowines Wine Tasting – A tour of Oia.
We begin our tour with a visit to the village of Mesa Gonia – the “ghost”village – that was deserted after the earthquake of 1956 and which is now rarely inhabited. We will walk around the village and take photos of the ruined houses and the old churches. Our first visit will be to the oldest church on the island, Panagia Episkopi, (the church of the Virgin Mary). The Byzantine Church of Episkope, near Mesa Gonia, was founded at the end of the 11th century by the Emperor Alexios Comnenos, I. The interior walls boast paintings of excellent quality and a wooden, carved templon decorated in the technique of mastic wax.
Then we will proceed to the Association Cooperative of Theraic Products-Santo Wines which is one of the first modern wineries in terms of design and the largest on the island in terms of capacity. The winery is located in the eyebrow of the Caldera. The Association Cooperative of Theraic Products along with the construction of the modern winery created a Wine Promotion Center, where visitors from all over the world enjoy a tour of the winery. We will participate in a wine tasting at the wine promotion center.
We'll depart from Pyrgos and drive towards Oia, passing some of the traditional villages of the island along the way. The route will offer breathtaking views in every direction, and our guide will point out all of the important sights along the way.
Oia, our ultimate destination, is one of the most beautiful villages of the island, carved out of the cliffs and clinging to the edge. The architecture is amazing and is highlighted by the stark white of the buildings and the contrasting colorful doors and window shutters. It has often been compared to the eagle's nest!
You will enjoy the astonishing panoramic view of caldera, the volcano, Thirassia Island, and the rest of Santorini looking back toward Fira. Oia is a favorite haunt of artists, many of whose works can be found in the local galleries of the village. And no wonder ... who would not be inspired by this magical place!
We'll return to the village square to board the buses for the return to our original point of departure. The rate includes:
Departure from the port of Athens
Sunset Cruise:
Athinios – Ifaistio – Zesta Nera (Hot Springs)– Dinner on board the cruise ship –Sunset – Return to Athinios –Hotel
Description:
After lunch, we'll head in the direction of Oia, coming close to the caldera cliffs, so you will have the chance to take some superb photos. The colors and formations of the cliffs are impressive.
As the boat approaches Oia, we can see its white houses built on top of the red cliffs, resembling spread snow. Here we have some excellent views of this picturesque village. The boat will continue to sail toward the port of Fira, where you can see the town clinging to the edge of the cliff, the cable car, the whitewashed houses and churches, the narrow twisting alleyways, and the hard working donkeys. We'll dock at Athinios port, where we board the buses for our hotels.
